Few cocktails capture the spirit of summer quite like the Mojito. Originating in Cuba, this refreshing mix of rum, lime, mint, sugar, and soda water has been cooling down drinkers for centuries. Its roots are thought to stretch back to the 16th century, when sailors combined lime, sugar, and local spirits as a remedy against scurvy. Over time, the drink evolved into the much-loved Mojito we know today — crisp, zesty, and endlessly refreshing.

At Devon Rum Co., we couldn’t resist putting our own spin on this iconic serve. Enter the Dirty Mojito — a bolder, richer take on the Cuban classic, made with our award-winning Premium Spiced Rum. The warmth of aromatic spices balances beautifully against the zing of lime and freshness of mint, giving you a cocktail that’s just as refreshing as the original, but with a deeper, more indulgent character.

INGREDIENTS
  • 50ml Devon Rum Co Premium Spiced Rum
  • 25ml sugar syrup (or 2tsp brown sugar)
  • 8–10 fresh mint leaves
  • Juice of ½ a fresh lime
  • 100ml soda water
  • Crushed ice
METHOD
  1. Add the mint leaves, sugar, and lime juice to the bottom of a tall glass.
  2. Gently muddle the ingredients together to release the oils and aromas.
  3. Pour inPremium Spiced Rum and sugar syrup.
  4. Fill the glass with ice and top with soda water.
  5. Stir gently, then garnish with a wedge of lime and a fresh sprig of mint.

Our Premium Spiced Rum is hand-crafted in the heart of Devon, using a unique blend of exotic Caribbean rums, soft Devonian spring water, aromatic spices, and fresh citrus zest.

The result is a full-bodied spiced rum with a 40% ABV.

Our Premium Spiced Rum features rich aromas of charred orange peel, smooth caramel, and hints of cardamom. Its complex taste finishes with a warm crackle of cinnamon, tangy star anise, fresh citrus zest, maple syrup and a smack of peppercorn.

Unlike many spiced rums, this expression is blended without vanilla to create a drier spirit that's not so sickly-sweet.

Best served on the rocks, with classic mixers, or as a base for your favourite rum cocktail.
