Our family all took part in a Rum Tasting session at Devon Rum Company in Salcombe in July. Brad from Devon Rum ran the session and was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. We tasted all four of the multi award winning range of Rums and they were excellent. We all agreed that Rum has now become our choice of spirit, surpassing Gin, Whisky etc. I would highly recommend this experience if on holiday in Salcombe or in fact if you come across the Devon Rum Company at a country fair or market."

Really interesting to see how they run it all and Hayden as our guide was brilliant. Go along with lots of questions and ready to have a chat. The nice cocktail before and the nice rum during will help get you in the mood for that. Very enjoyable experience and we'll be recommending it to friends going forward!
If you want to fill an hour and half in Salcombe then book a Devon rum tasting experience at the Devon rum site on island street. It is a cool place to have a drink etc but the tasting experience gives you a deep dive into the various Devon rums and how they were conceived and made. We were lucky to have our tasting conducted by the charismatic founder and head of the business, Dave.
My wife and I had a lovely rum tasting session. We'd already tried the various rums having first come across Devon Rum at the Brixham Pirate Festival a few years ago. It was, however, still hugely enjoyable to have a more structured tasting and very much interesting to hear about the business and how the rums differ. The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. Thoroughly recommend.
