Much of this drink's success is down to its simplicity: just three easy-to-find ingredients, swirled in a glass to create a fiery tipple that's sure to warm your soul.
How to make a Devon Stormy Cocktail
To create our version of the classic Dark 'n' Stormy, you'll need:
- 50ml of our Premium Spiced Rum
- A refreshing Fever-Tree Ginger Beer
- One zesty Lime.
- Ice
Start by dropping a handful of ice into a highball glass, then two-thirds fill the glass with your Fever-Tree Ginger Beer. Next, float a 50ml measure of our flavoursome Premium Spiced Rum over the back of a spoon to create a striking divide between spirit and mixer. Finish by adding a good squeeze of lime juice, garnish with a fresh wedge of lime, and give everything a good stir.
And there you have it - a classic rum cocktail that doesn't require a degree in mixology!
Dark n Stormy Origins
This refreshing cocktail was first created in the early 1800s. Legend says that a British Naval Officer invented the drink, by swirling the island's rum with the ginger beer he had brewed to combat sea sickness. On his creation, a sailor allegedly exclaimed that the drink was " the colour of a cloud only a fool or a dead man would sail under." And thus, the Dark 'n' Stormy was born.
